Peg-doll Christmas Angels

Old fashioned peg dolls make delightful Christmas angels, but can also be made into Santa Claus with red felt and a cotton wool beard.

You will Need:

  • Wooden pegs
  • Black pen for face and silver pen for shoes
  • Scraps of lave and cotton for dress
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pipe-cleaner for halo
  • Silver card for wings
  • Sheer ribbon for hanging loop

Method:

angel1. Draw on face and feet: Use the black pen to draw some eyes and a mouth on the peg. Use the silver pen to colour in the feet and allow to dry.

angel2. Cut out and glue dress: Cut out a piece of white cotton and lace measuring 8cmx8cm each. Lay the white cotton on top of the lace and glue one end of fabric to the back of the doll. Wrap the other layer of fabric around the doll and glue in place at the back.

angel3. Attach wings: Using scissors, carefully cut a pair of small sings from the silver card. Apply a dab of glue to the wings and stick them into place on the back of the doll.

angel4. Add halo and ribbon: Twist pipe-cleaner into a circular shape to form a halo and place it on the peg doll’s head. Cut a length of sheer ribbon approximately 20cm long and tie it around the peg doll’s neck. Tie two ends of the ribbon into a knot to form a hanging loop.
