Amanda is a director of Tinies Childcare, the UK’s leading childcare recruitment agency.
Amanda started life as a solicitor and worked for seven years in the City. She saw many colleagues struggling with childcare and work and decided that she wanted to do something about it. Amanda joined Ben and Oliver Black at Tinies in 2000 and together they set out to create a company that could provide professional childcare recruitment services to parents. Since then Tinies has expanded to become the largest network of agencies in the UK, with 25 branches and over 20,000 childcarers. Tinies provides nannies, maternity nannies, emergency nannies, babysitters, mobile crèches, teachers and nursery staff to clients throughout the UK and abroad.
As a mother of two boys, Amanda knows the difficulties parents face when juggling childcare. She also provides employment advice, and as such has a wealth of knowledge of the highs and lows of employing a childcarer.
Amanda says: “No day is the same in my job! I am constantly on the phone to clients, advising on anything from pay rises to dismissal. At the same time, I have 25 branches to care for, which takes me around the country on a regular basis. I know how important good childcare is, as without my nanny I couldn’t function!”
