Angie Davies trained as an oboist and pianist at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. During her early career she enjoyed the life of a busy orchestral musician, but was not long before she realised that her particular strengths were in teaching music, in particular to very young pre-school aged children. Her subsequent position as Head of Music at a leading London Prep School allowed her the time to concentrate on developing her own unique teaching style. Following the birth of her first daughter she went on to devote her career to teaching and wrote the first Monkey Music curriculum.
The fully copyrighted Monkey Music curriculum combines numerous songs, rhymes, stories, musical games and activities which are taught in a progressive format across four different age groups for children from three months. Much of the curriculum features Angie’s original material and concentrates on developing the children’s social and musical development simultaneously.
Fourteen years later Angie is now the mother of five daughters, and Monkey Music is an award-winning, nationally franchised business opportunity with an established reputation for being at the forefront of providing music classes for pre-school aged children, bringing music to the lives of over 10,000 children every week.
