Molly Dilnot

Supernanny Expert
Molly Dilmot

Molly Dilnot spent the first 25 years of her life living on a small holding just outside Coventry with her parents, a pony, 3 goats and numerous chickens, geese and ducks. A local paper once wrote an article about her family, the title of which was “It’s the good life, and they love it”. Despite her back-to-nature start in life, in 1994 Molly moved to live in Nunhead, South London with her future husband Giles and has been there ever since.

After working in the City as a secretary for ten years they decided it was time to start a family and Olivia Grace came along about ten months later in July 2004. Whilst pregnant Molly investigated cloth nappies, with encouragement from her best friend (also pregnant), and her Mum who has used terry squares on all five of her children and was fascinated to hear how things had changed. Having found The Nappy Lady there was really no looking back and having received sound advice from one of the team of advisors Olivia was put into cloth nappies at 10 weeks old. Molly soon realised how many other parents in her area were interested in using cloth nappies, but felt overwhelmed by the level of choice so she got in touch with Morag Gaherty, proprietor of The Nappy Lady. Several telephone calls and emails later the logistics of becoming not only an advisor, but a Demonstration Advisor has been ironed out, Molly had her demonstration kit organised and Southwark had its very own Nappy Lady!

After 10 months maternity leave Molly returned to her job in the City, but one thing led to another and after initially offering demonstrations one evening a month demand finally grew to a point where it made sense to leave her job and become a full time Nappy Lady. Molly now recruits and trains new Demonstration Advisors and reviews new product lines as well as continuing to provide cloth nappy demonstrations and advice in the Southwark area. When asked what it is about being a Nappy Lady that makes it so special Molly says “There is nothing more rewarding that being able to give those that want to use cloth nappies the knowledge they need to do so successfully. To show parents how to save money, have less leaks and send a bit less rubbish into land fill is wonderful…..plus I get to cuddle lots of new babies….what could be better?”.
